Four islands, Ao nang

The best boat tour, I’ve ever been to. People who visit Ao nang or Phuket, generally do this tour, they do the speedboat tour or the traditional longtail boat one, I did the latter. This tour is perfect to explore the gorgeous rock islands of Krabi.
Well as the name suggests, this tour included four alluring islands

The first one is called the Phra nang cave bay island, located on the Railay peninsula, which is absolutely outstanding. The main attraction here other than the beach is the Phra nang cave, an interesting small cave that fascinates the visitors. Apart from that this island also has a temple that adds up to the attractions

The second island is the Tup island, and this one was even better than the previous one. This island is small but breathtakingly beautiful. This island is perfect for swimming in its crystal clear water due to its low tide, and you can even reach its neighboring island by simply crossing the sea by walking to the chicken island, the view from there is also pretty great.

KOH TUP

The third destination is the Koh Kai, popularly known as the chicken island, which can be reached by its neighboring island, Koh tup, this island is rather peaceful and relaxing. Its called the chicken island as from far away it actually looks like a chicken.

The fourth island is the Koh Poda or the Poda island. This island is like paradise on Earth. Fine white sand beach and a sea so clear that you just feel like jumping in. The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the brilliant beach scenery. The huge rock in front of it has been featured on countless postcards, screensavers, and touristic brochures, so don’t miss the opportunity to take your own photograph of the scenery…

KOH PODA

The last part of this tour is snorkeling, which was an amazing experience, the view of the bright blue sea was really something wonderful, where I saw quite colourfull fishes, it was definitely a unique experience..

I still can’t get over the amazing time I had in Thailand, especially in Ao Nang. It was a place that I would love to visit again, and I hope I will 🙂

Lagoon islands of Venice, Italy

Venice being a very famous town in Italy adds up being among one of the most visited cities in the world, and it sure does have a lot of attractions but so do the two amazing lagoon islands near it which, according to me are definitely worth exploring.

Murano:

A gem of a place, lying in the north of Venice, Italy is renowned for its history of glass making. This charming island has several skilled craftsmen continuing their local tradition of making glass, a lot of visitors come here to explore the Museo del Vetro, which is a museum showing the history of glass through the years. This little town also has many glass factories which demonstrate the process of making the glass, and also quite a few souvenir shops where you can buy fine and attractive glass jewelry for your loved ones..

Apart from having a history of glass making, this place also has its own grand canal, shops and sidewalk cafes, and also many beautiful streets..

MURANO

Burano:

A very picturesque island of fishermen having lanes full of beautiful vibrant colored apartments and houses that give a very rainbow vibe, lies near Murano and can be easily reached by ferry. This island, however, is famous for its lacemaking and has a ton of shops where one can buy various lace products, it also has many fascinating bakeries and other shops. Apart from the bright houses, this island has narrow and clear canals. Since its a very small town, Burano would be best explored by simply walking in its extremely scenic and colourfull streets.

BURANO

The best way to get to these islands from the main Venice island is by the Vaporetto (water bus)

Ao Nang

I recently visited this heavenly place and I loved it. From its incredibly beautiful beaches to its soothing temperature, everything was perfect here to spend a relaxing vacation

Ao Nang is a beach town in Krabi, Thailand and is known for its long-tail boat tours of the islands such as Ko Hong, Ko Poda, and Ko Gai. The beauty of this place is mesmerizing

Ao Nang is filled with many resorts and hotels, so accommodation is not a problem there. I stayed at the Centara Anda Dhevi resort, which was located at about 15 minutes from the Aonang beach and was a nice resort with a spacious room, friendly staff, and a great pool!

I believe that one can never get bored at this dreamy destination, and if you are a beach lover, it is the perfect place for you.

Ao Nang beach

You can spend your day here by taking a walk in the beachfront markets, and there are also many massage centers in this town where you can also have the famous thai foot massage like I did, and was very relaxing. In the evenings you can simply go and have a long walk at the beach, it would really help you to relieve all your stress. You can visit the Ao Nang beach, which is a very attractive beach or the Nopparat Thara beach, which is equally beautiful.

Beach front market

You can also spend your day by doing any tour or activity in the morning like the Phi Phi tour, four islands, jungle tour and there are many more options available. There are many tourist information centers so you can easily decide over there what you want to do. I did the four island tour, which was of half day and included the Pranang cave bay island, where there was a huge cave with a temple, and also the famous Railay beach, then they took us the tub island, then showed us the chicken island and then we had our lunch at the Poda island, which was included in the tour and the last was snorkeling which was really fun. If you ever do this tour do not forget to take sunscreen, a pair of sunglasses, a swimming suit, and a cap along with you. In the evening you can also visit the famous night market of Ao Nang

Phra Nang cave bay

When it comes to food, there are many Thai, Indian, as well as other restaurants in Ao Nang, however my family and I ate mostly at the king Kitchen restaurant, and I really liked their food. Do not forget to taste the delicious fruits of Ao Nang. You can easily get a bowl of mixed fruits on the streets, which are very refreshing.

Thai curry with rice

That is all about Ao Nang, and I suggest to go there in the months of September to January just to avoid the heat.

so don’t forget to add this dreamy place to your bucket list!

How I spent three days at the NASA space camp, Huntsville

The main motive of my recent US school trip was the Nasa space camp, It was just a 3 day camp but was definitely the best part of the trip, It was very informative interesting and fun with different rides, rockets and more….

Day 1:

My friends and I were really tired as we reached late at Atlanta the night before, from Buffalo, it was a 3 hour flight and due to reaching late, neither me nor my friends had a good sleep. The space camp is in Alabama so it was a 4 hour drive from Atlanta to the space camp and we reached at about 2. First, they told us all the rules like no food in the room etc (which I am sure no one followed XD). They gave us a wristband, a diary with information and a pen and assigned us all into different teams and rooms which were written on the wristbands. I was in team Reigel, fortunately with my friend, Avni and our team leader was Rebecca, she was really friendly. They let us first put our stuff in our rooms (Bringing the whole suitcase along was a big mistake as I had trouble in taking it to my room which was on 4th or 5th floor, by stairs, so if you ever attend the camp, please only take those things that you really need)….The room was small but spacious having 7 beds, 3 bunk beds and 1 single bed, it also had a few cabinets. There were common bathrooms and all this was giving a boarding school feeling… Our first activity was rock climbing on the mars wall, there were 6 different walls and you could choose any two, it was really fun, though I failed my both attempts. Rebecca asked us what would we like to do first among seeing the museum and making our own little diy rockets, we obviously chose the latter. Making the rockets was really fun, all of them were called the pathfinders and we also added a parachute to it and then decorated our cute little rockets! Next Rebecca showed us the huge museum, there were rockets, the moon rock, pictures and so much more, although it was really interesting but we all were feeling already very sleepy and tired. She also asked us all to draw logos on our diary that we could use for our team, it was a competition between all the teams, and it would be decided on the last day, that whose logo was the best. Then we had our diner, which was really good (specially the cheesecake) there were different tables and we had to sit with our team only. After the dinner we had a walk around, saw the rockets and all and then we were taken to the auditorium where they showed us videos about an astronaut and how he lived inside the rocket while in space, it was really interesting, by this time we all were feeling too sleepy. At last they asked us if we had any questions and then gave us the red space camp t shirts which we had to wear for the remaining duration of the camp.

Me with the rocket I made

Day 2:

It was an amazing day. After a heavy breakfast we all were told our roles for a space mission, some people had roles inside the rocket and some outside. Rebecca assigned us all different roles, I was the E Com, I searched it up in my diary and it read that an e com was a person who saved people inside the rocket from any trouble by providing the solutions and making sure everything is alright inside the spacecraft. We were taken to a room which had about 6 desks with computers and microphones and manuals, the NASA staff over there told us that the most important role outside the rocket was of E com…which sounded good. I was sitting with flight director, GNC and Paycom, all having different roles and we were told that this was just the practice mission and the final will be after lunch. The booklet we had in front of us contained our dialogues, I had an extra one which had solutions to the problems. The practice mission went very well, and I guess I kinda did good. Then we again had a visit to the space museum where we learnt many things about astronomy and we also met 2 space scientists of Nasa. Next we were taken to the Moon Shot simulator which was astonishing and also a bit terrifying, It had a height of 140 feet, and one could experience weightlessness for 3 long seconds but was definitely very fun. There was also a G force simulator, which I did not go on as I was afraid that I’ll get sick as I had a heavy breakfast. We then saw a space related movie. We had our lunch and then had our final mission, which went the same as the practice one (I liked this mission best out of all the activities). Rebecca showed us some controls and also the interior of the rocket and then we were given our little rockets that we built yesterday and we attached it to a place where just by pressing a button, we could launch our handmade model rockets! Mine went high up and I was also among the few who found their rockets after flight. After the rocket flying activity we did some studying for the quiz to be held on the last day among all the teams, even studying felt good at Nasa space camp. Rebecca asked us to show the logos that we made on day one and made everyone vote, and most people voted for my friend, Divya’s logo. At the end of the day we did another simulator which was called the Multiaxis Trainer simulator, you just have to sit on it and it goes round and round and it wasn’t quiet sickening but I have to admit it felt a bit dizzy.          Space mission

Day 3:

On the last day of the space camp, after having our last breakfast at the space center, we went to another simulator called the hypership, it was okay. The quiz was held between all the teams and our team won it. Last but not the least graduation ceremony was held where each member graduated and we got some graduation materials which included a certificate, a team photograph and two badges…..and also had a photograph clicked in our school uniform, and then we left again for Atlanta.

Nasa space camp was very fun and for me it was the best part of the trip, I got to learn many things, did many amazing activities and made new friends. Hope you liked my blog 🙂

Gujarat

I went to Gujarat last year in the month of september with my family. It was a short trip, and we covered just two places which are little Rann of Kutch and Ahemdabad.

We first stayed at the Royal Safari Camp at Bajana which was near the wild ass sanctuary and the resort was pretty good and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the food was tasty. Even in the month of september the afternoons were crazy hot and it started getting cooler at about 5 pm. We decided to take the safari in the evening.

Little Rann of Kutch :

I never imagined that it would be such a unique and delightful experience! The word rann means “salty desert” and while driving through the Little Rann of Kutch, a salty desert is all you see. The ground in the little Rann of kutch is all dried and cracked, the air felt hot and dry. I think this saline desert had a lot to offer to wildlife lovers, birdwatchers and wildlife photographers having an amazing variety of flora and fauna. I could see pink flamingoes, nilgai, hyena, hares, hedgehogs, foxes and many other beautiful birds and animals, and as this place is well known for its wild asses, we too saw many of them…We also saw some people who sheltered there and manufactured salt, they even showed us the real salt crystals and told us how they make salt, which was quiet interesting

Me at Little Rann of Kutch

Moreover I liked Little Rann of Kutch because it was, silent, free of any noise pollution, had an amazing wildlife and was a very different experience.

Next day first we went to a place near the sanctuary, in a town called Patan that was called “Rani Ki Vav” which was a huge stepwell, had a wonderful architecture and it is also one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. Designed as an inverted temple highlighting the importance of water and its storage system ,this stepwell was built as a memorial to a king Bhimdev by his wife Udayamati during 1063 to 1068 AD

Rani ki Vav

We also went to the Patola House near the Rani ki vav which was a museum of the Patan Patola Saree and they gave us a demo of how they weave the saree, thread by thread, creating beautiful and detailed designs on them. I found it very creative…

After the “Patola House” we went to the “Modhera Sun Temple” which was no less, it also had a stepwell and a beautiful temple. This temple is situated on the banks of river Pushpavati and is dedicated to the Sun god The exterior walls are engraved with beautiful detailed carvings and many carved pillars. It was definitely worth a visit!

Modhera Sun temple

After a long drive, we went to the famous Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar. It is a large Hindu temple complex inspired by Yogiji maharaj. The temple was beautiful and we also saw the light show which was very colorful and interesting.

In Ahemdabad we stayed at Novotel, which was near the SG highway. On the Second day we first went to the Gandhi Ashram commonly called the Sabarmati ashram built along the banks of Sabarmati river. There were different small rooms in the ashram and a museum which provided the knowledge about many historical movements that took place during the freedom struggle such as the Dandi salt march led by Mahatma Gandhi. It was very informative..

In the evening we went to diner at The House Of Mg which is a heritage hotel and also had a walk in the market nearby. We got to eat proper Gujarati meal in a proper Gujarati way, the meal was quiet heavy, specially for me because I don’t really eat much but it was really delicious, there were starters and then the real big Gujarati thali which contained a lot of vegetables, rice etc. Almost everything had a little bit of sweetness in it which complimented the saltiness. Gujarati’s are famous for sweetness I guess, in their food as well as in people.

My family and I having a Gujarati meal

So that’s all that we did in our very short trip but I am really glad we made this trip happen as even in the few places that we visited my family and I got to experience very different things. Hope you like my blog!!
